Meetings and Programs:
Meetings are held the third Monday of each month in the Genealogical Research Room at 7:00 pm. Meetings are open to the public.
Our research room is located at 110 East Main Street, on the Square in Mt. Vernon. The room is open Monday through Friday 10 am - 4 pm and Saturday 10 am - 2 pm.
Named for the drug store that once occupied the space, the Crescent Club was formed October 7, 2015, by the FCGS Board of Directors, offering memberships to the first 50 individuals or families to donate $1000 to the Building Fund since the date of the Club’s inception. You can read more on the Crescent Club page.
The research room is also available online. In Fall 2008, the Franklin County Genealogical Society earned the Third Place Partner Society Website Award, presented at the Texas State Genealogical Society Annual Conference 2008. In Fall 2010, the Society's web presence separated from the Franklin County TXGenWeb Project website. In Summer 2014, the Society moved to its current website platform and updated its website address to http://www.fcgensociety.org.
The society's email address is email@example.com. Our phone number is (903) 537-3931.
